During the course, INEGI will present its strategy for implementing the new standards for macroeconomic national accounts statistics contained in the 2025 SNA and will highlight the tools that will support its compilers in implementing the new topics. An overview of the 2025 SNA update will be shared, highlighting the new data, topics, and statistical products that will be required. In the case of Mexico, statistical advances related to the digital economy, informality, well-being, financial topics, sustainability, globalization, and the communication and dissemination of macroeconomic statistics will be presented. Additionally, if possible, countries in the region will share their expectations regarding the implementation of the 2025 SNA.

Objective

Support countries in Latin America and the Caribbean in implementing the new topics of the 2025 SNA and in addressing the main conceptual and methodological changes. This will contribute to greater methodological consistency in the production of such statistics, enhance their international comparability, and ensure they reflect the new economic reality. The course will facilitate an exchange of experiences that will help align the region with the international standards of 2025 SNA. All of this will promote an improvement in the quality of national accounts, which will contribute to decision-making based on better data.
