The course will focus on presenting the main changes incorporated into the BPM7 compared to the BPM6, with particular emphasis on aspects related to globalization (global value chains, multinational enterprises), financial innovation (treatment of crypto-assets), and digitalization (cloud computing services, digital platforms, digital products).

Objective

Contribute, through presentations and the exchange of ideas with participants, to an understanding of the main conceptual and methodological changes introduced in BPM7 and, consequently, to their incorporation into official external sector statistics.

Aimed at

Staff at central banks in Latin America and the Caribbean and at statistical institutes involved in compiling balance of payments and international investment position statistics.
