VI Course on Machine Learning and Central Banking (theoretical)
August 13 - 14, 2025
Videoconference
The first phase of the VI Course on Machine Learning and Central Banking was held virtually on August 13–14, 2025, bringing together 83 representatives from 23 CEMLA member and associate institutions. During these sessions, key machine learning concepts were presented, showing how algorithms can be applied to real central banking problems, such as exchange rate analysis, risk modeling, and natural language processing.
Causal inference was also addressed, highlighting its relevance for designing more effective solutions and improving model interpretability. This phase allowed participants to enhance their analytical capabilities using modern ML tools that complement traditional statistical and econometric methods, preparing them to apply this knowledge in practical scenarios.
