Content

The event will deal with aspects such as the recent evolution of migration flows from Latin American and Caribbean countries and employment levels of such migrants in their destination countries; the recent behavior of remittance inflows and the factors explaining them; profiles and sociodemographic characteristics of migrants; results of surveys conducted among migrants or households receiving remittances; the measurement of remittances in the household income and expenditure surveys; remittance market regulation and policies to increase the positive impact of remittances and encourage the financial inclusion of the remittances market users. Progress made on implementation of the Remittances and Financial Inclusion Program being performed by CEMLA and the BID-Lab of the Inter-American Development Bank Group (IBD) will also be presented.

Objective

Promote an exchange of experiences and knowledge among participants on different aspects of Remittances, Migration and Financial Inclusion themes.

Aimed at

Professionals from Latin American and Caribbean central banks, bank superintendencies and financial sector supervisory agencies that participate in the remittance market by measuring and regulating these flows, as well as remittance industry representatives and specialists in population and migration statistics.
