XVI Meeting of Heads of Financial Stability

The Meeting of Heads of Financial Stability is held annually and brings together heads of financial stability in CEMLA’s member institutions. The meeting serves as a high-level forum for the exchange of experiences for the improvement of methodologies and governance structures used by central banks in the region in the field, to examine key developments and emerging challenges relevant to financial stability in the region, as well as the policy responses, analytical frameworks, and best practices. Through the participation of external experts and invited academics, the meeting also fosters dialogue between regional financial stability units and the global policy debate.

In recent years, the meeting has addressed key issues for financial stability analysis, including evolving macrofinancial risks, vulnerabilities in the banking and non-bank financial sectors, cross-border spillovers, and the resilience of financial systems to shocks. Discussions have also covered emerging risks related to digitalization and cybersecurity, climate-related financial risks, and methodological and policy approaches to strengthen financial stability frameworks. The meeting is intended for senior staff from central banks and supervisory authorities holding leading positions in financial stability units.
