CEMLA Academic Advisory Program 2026

August 13 - 14, 2026
Videoconference

The CEMLA Academic Advisory Program enables central bank researchers from CEMLA member institutions to disseminate, share, and refine their research proposals under the guidance of two expert advisors selected for each annual edition. Previous participants have received feedback from advisors such as Pablo Guerrón (Boston College), Carlos Capistrán (Bank of America), Daniel Chiquiar (Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, ITAM), Javier García-Cicco (Universidad de San Andrés), Roberto Duncan (Ohio University), and Alejandro Vicondoa (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile). Research topics have included macroeconomic responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, labor market analysis, inflation, expectations and forecasts, and the macroeconomics of inflation in the post-COVID-19 era, particularly in relation to the recent inflationary episode that presented significant challenges for central banks.

The program consists of two individual academic feedback meetings with each advisor, separated by a workshop where participants and academic advisors discuss research progress. Upon completion, participating authors are invited to submit their papers to the Latin American Journal of Central Banking for potential publication.
