This technical meeting provides a space for dialogue and the exchange of experiences in financial risk management in central banking. This year’s meeting will focus on the main challenges faced by central banks in financial risk management, with particular emphasis on reserve management amid heightened economic, financial, and geopolitical uncertainty. The program will cover the use of external asset managers, evolving approaches to stress testing and scenario design under volatile conditions, the impact of geopolitical risk on reserves, and the role of artificial intelligence in risk management. It will also address recent trends in gold reserves management, the design of liquidity facilities, challenges in defining benchmark portfolios, and emerging practices for integrating geopolitical and macro-financial risks into central bank risk management frameworks. The meeting is intended for senior staff of central banks and supervisory authorities holding leading roles in financial risk management units.
