XII Financial Information Forum of Latin American and the Caribbean Central Banks (FIF)
May 26 - 27, 2026
CEMLA Mexico City, Mexico
Face-to-face format
The Financial Information Forum (FIF) is an annual meeting that provides a space for dialogue and technical exchange on the development, use, and dissemination of financial and economic statistics in central banking. It brings together heads of financial statistics units from CEMLA member institutions to discuss significant advances in information systems, with a particular focus on financial system monitoring. The Forum promotes discussion on methodological innovations, data standards, and emerging tools, while facilitating the exchange of experiences and recent developments in financial information systems within the framework of a permanent working group comprising a Secretariat led by CEMLA and Executive Committee made up of the central banks of Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Peru.
This year’s meeting will focus on recent advances in central bank financial statistics, including the use of data science to enhance the use and sharing of data, the compilation and analysis of granular and microdata, and the role of SDMX in facilitating statistical data exchange. The agenda will also cover the use of corporate financial statements for statistical analysis, experiences with artificial intelligence implementation, and country perspectives on AI adoption and data governance. Discussions will conclude with a roundtable on emerging challenges for financial statistics, including cybersecurity, the growing role of non-bank financial institutions, and the statistical implications of cryptocurrencies and stablecoins. The meeting is aimed at senior staff members from central banks and supervisory authorities with leading positions in statistical and information system units with a background in financial statistics.
