XII Meeting of the Financial Information Forum of Latin American and the Caribbean Central Banks

The Center for Latin American Monetary Studies (CEMLA) held the XII Meeting of the Financial Information Forum of Latin American and the Caribbean Central Banks on May 26–27, 2026, in Mexico City. The meeting brought together 82 representatives from 29 institutions, including CEMLA members and other organizations. While the event was held in person, selected sessions were also made available virtually to facilitate broader participation.

The meeting focused on developments in financial information management, data governance, information-sharing frameworks, statistical standards, granular data initiatives, and artificial intelligence (AI) alongside other emerging technologies for data management and analysis. Discussions also addressed the modernization of statistical processes, the use of new data sources, and challenges associated with the collection, integration, and dissemination of financial information, as well as emerging risks in cybersecurity and digital assets in central banks. Participants reviewed international experiences and exchanged views on initiatives aimed at strengthening the availability, accessibility, and use of financial information for analysis and decision-making.

The agenda also included keynote presentations by Fernando Pérez-Cruz (BIS), Finnian Lattimore (Reserve Bank of Australia), and Artak Harutyunyan (IMF), who shared perspectives on innovation, data science, and emerging trends relevant to financial information and statistics in central banks.
