Face-to-face format
The second phase of the course took place in-person in Mexico City from August 18–20, 2025, with the participation of 30 representatives from 16 institutions, including 14 CEMLA members. During this stage, participants worked in groups on real institutional cases and challenges, exploring algorithmic approaches and applying the knowledge acquired in the theoretical phase.
The Kanban methodology was used to track progress and next steps, fostering collaboration, idea exchange, and refinement of potential solutions. The phase concluded with the presentation of preliminary results and feedback from instructors and peers, promoting hands-on and strategic learning that integrates theory and practice. Additionally, this stage strengthened regional cooperation and knowledge exchange among institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean, addressing topics such as model interpretability, data processing challenges, and implementation barriers.
