This seminar was held in a virtual format, from August 29 to 31, 2022. The objective of the seminar was to present and comment on the conceptual and measurement aspects of international trade in goods and services; as well as promote an exchange of ideas and experiences faced by the participants in the measurement processes of these international operations.

The seminar was attended by more than 90 compilers and analysts, from 23 countries. During the seminar, experts from Mexico, Uruguay, the Cayman Islands, Colombia, Argentina, Spain, Uruguay and Costa Rica presented the main progresses that they have applied in the production of foreign trade statistics. Likewise, the seminar was attended by representatives of the OECD, the WTO, the World Bank, and the United Nations Department of Statistics on cutting-edge issues for the measurement of foreign trade.

The seminar agenda was made up of presentations by experts who covered the following topic:

  1. Challenges of the International Trade in Goods statistics and implemented solutions;
  2. Challenges of International Trade in Services statistics and implemented solutions;
  3. Digital trade;
  4. Climate change; and,
  5. Updates of international standards.
