Call for Papers

Conference Purpose and Topics
To promote an exchange of ideas and experiences among high level officials of CEMLA’s central bank membership, representatives of regulatory and supervisory, multilateral and academic agencies, in regard to the ongoing implementation efforts of the new international financial standards in the Latin American and Caribbean region. Issues of interest include, among others:

  • Systemic risk identification and measurement across different sector of the economy
  • Implementation of new Basel Committee standards
  • Macroprudential policy: objectives and tools
  • Interaction between monetary and macroprudential policies
  • Institutional design and political economy challenges for effective implementation of macroprudential regimens.

The conference will consist of magisterial lectures and presentations of selected articles. It will partially overlap with the VI Meeting on Financial Stability (July 14-15, at CEMLA). Therefore we expect active engagement of high level officials and academic participants from both events.

Paper submission
Research papers and case studies are welcomed, in Spanish or English, on the topics underlined above. Documents can be written by one or more authors, one of whom is expected to attend the conference in case of acceptance for presentation.

Deadline for submitting documents is April 15, 2016 by sending in electronic form to the email: ocarvallo@cemla.org.

After a qualified committee reviews the articles and makes recommendations, the conference coordinator will announce the accepted presentations for the event.

Authors will be notified about acceptance decisions by May 1st, 2016.

Conference registration
Once the articles for presentation are selected, authors will be given access to registration. The deadline for registry is June 25, 2016.
