| Changes in Capital Flows and Implications for Central Banks PLACE AND DATE: Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles from June 1st to 4th, 2009 OBJETIVO: The Seminar has been designed to enable participants to: (i) identify the recent capital flows developments and related policy issues and actions with special focus on the Latin American and Caribbean experience, (ii) explain monetary policy challenges, including exchange rate regimes, foreign exchange intervention and sterilization, (iii) analyze financial stability challenges such as impact on domestic banking systems and financial markets, and (iv) explain policy responses to capital flows PARTICIPANTES: The event is designed for middle and senior level officers of central banks/monetary authorities who are in the economics department, research department, international department, financial markets or financial stability departments. Participants will be asked to make a short presentation on their country’s experience relating to one of the topics on the agenda.
