VIII Meeting On Central Bank Human Resources Management

 

PLACE AND DATE:
Madrid, Spain, 2nd to 5th June 2007.

OBJECTIVE:
To analyze the role of Human Resources as a promoter of central banks’ effectiveness and social responsibility: ethical framework, central banks as human resources managers, diversity and discrimination, work/life balance, areas of responsibility, education policies related to areas of responsibility, internal mobility policies.

PARTICIPANTS:
Central Bank members of CEMLA

LANGUAGE:
English and Spanish, simultaneous interpretation.

METHODOLOGY OF THE MEETING:
The VIII Meeting will include plenary and work group sessions. Speakers will present their papers on selected subjects in plenary sessions. Work groups will discuss the proposed subjects with the purpose of drafting conclusions and recommendations. During the plenary session scheduled for the last day of the meeting, the Human Resources Central Bank Committee will deliver a report on the activities.

The Committee will prepare reference papers for the subjects to be discussed by work groups. CEMLA will be distributing the papers prepared by keynote speakers.

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION OF PARTICIPANTS:
Name of the participants and title of the papers (or at least the issue of interest) should be submitted to CEMLA and to the Bank of Spain by March 14th at the latest.

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION OF PAPERS:
Participants wishing to present a specific topic from the agenda are kindly asked to contact the Technical Coordinator. The name(s) of the participant(s) and the title of their presentation/subject mater should be informed to CEMLA and the Bank of Spain by March 28th at the latest.

DEADLINE FOR PAPERS:
Papers must be delivered to the host and to CEMLA before May 16th 2008. The text must be 25 pages long (maximum), double spaced, preferably written in English and Spanish, and formatted in Word for Windows. When sending this information, please notify the host of any specifications on the visual equipment and the time needed to make the presentation.

In order to facilitate the selection of the papers to be presented, as well as to prepare an adequate program, participants are asked to deliver a 1-page outline, both in Spanish and in English, before May 9th.
